Dunne & Dunn Family Gifts: Choose the Right Name and Gift

That final “e” matters when the gift has someone’s name on it. The store carries separate Dunne and Dunn designs, including a woven cotton blanket and an everyday mug in each spelling. Choose the name the recipient uses first; then decide whether the present belongs on their sofa, in the kitchen or at the next family gathering.

Start with the spelling, then the gift

For a Dunne household: the Dunne woven blanket

Dunne Irish Family Crest Heirloom Woven Blanket – Irish National Tartan. This Dunne design is woven into 100% cotton on an Irish National Tartan background, with decorative fringe. The 52 × 37, 60 × 50 and 80 × 60-inch sizes give you room to choose for a chair or sofa. It is the direct option for a family that wants the final “e” displayed.

For a Dunn household: the Dunn woven blanket

Dunn Irish Family Crest Woven Blanket – Irish National Tartan Throw. The separate Dunn listing also uses 100% cotton, woven surname artwork and fringed edges in the same three sizes. The important difference is the name and design shown in the photographs. Choose this rather than treating Dunne as a substitute for a recipient who writes Dunn.

For a small Dunne gift: the 11 oz mug

Dunne Irish National Tartan Family Crest Mug – Black 11 oz. This ceramic accent mug has a black handle, rim and interior, with the Dunne design on the Irish National Tartan. It makes a useful birthday or thank-you present when you know the spelling but not their decorating plans. A favourite coffee or tea, bought separately, adds a personal touch.

For a small Dunn gift: the black-accent mug

Dunn Irish Family Crest Mug – Black Accent 11 oz. The Dunn mug is also 11 oz, with a white exterior and black handle and interior. Its listing specifies microwave and dishwasher use. If you are buying for two branches with different spellings, one mug in each name is clearer than trying to make a single standard item stand for both.

For a Dunne reunion: the Irish harp shirt

Dunne Irish Harp T-Shirt. This Gildan Softstyle 64000 unisex shirt uses the Dunne name, a printed harp and Irish Heritage wording. Black, Forest Green and Irish Green options run S–3XL. Collect measurements for each wearer and compare the size chart before a group order.

A wedding gift does not have to settle anyone’s name choice

Ask which name the couple would enjoy displaying, especially if neither is changing their surname. The standard blankets above each show one existing name design. A pair of separate gifts can honour both names without promising a combined two-surname blanket. Our family-name gift guide covers changed names and maternal family connections.

Where family history fits

Dunne and Dunn are both found among Irish forms of Ó Duinn. That historical relationship is useful background, but it does not make the spellings interchangeable for the person receiving the present. Choose their preferred lettering and add a real family memory to the card. Decorative heraldic artwork is not a record of personal ancestry.

Dunne gift questions

Is there a woven blanket for each spelling?

Yes. The two linked listings are separate Dunne and Dunn woven cotton blankets. Inspect the artwork and choose the spelling you want.

Can one of these standard blankets show both Dunn and Dunne?

These listings offer the existing single-name designs shown on their product pages. Do not assume a combined-name option is included.
