MacPherson & McPherson Gifts: A Guide for Family Occasions

MacPherson woven cotton blanket with cat crest, red tartan design and fringed edges

For a MacPherson milestone gift, choose the woven cotton blanket. For a smaller keepsake, the ceramic ornament carries the same red tartan and cat crest. If your relative writes their name McPherson, the McPherson Saltire T-shirt gives you that exact spelling in the artwork.

A family-name gift works best when two details feel right: the name on it and the way the person will use it. A grandparent’s reading chair, a cousin’s reunion outfit and a Christmas tree call for different choices. This guide helps you find the right one in our MacPherson and McPherson gift collection.

Start with the spelling your family uses

The Clan Macpherson Association welcomes Macpherson, MacPherson and McPherson families and identifies Badenoch as the clan’s traditional heartland. For a gift, keep the recipient’s own spelling. The MacPherson crest pieces below show MACPHERSON; the separate Saltire shirt shows MCPHERSON. These are ready-designed products, so choosing a different garment size does not change the printed surname.

If you are buying for a relative whose maiden name is MacPherson, think about whether they enjoy celebrating that side of the family. A piece for their own desk or reading corner can be more personal than a shared-household item.

For a big birthday or retirement: the woven blanket

The MacPherson blanket makes the cat crest the centre of a red-dominant tartan design, with the family name and Touch Not the Cat Bot a Glove wording worked into the composition. Choose it for someone who would enjoy seeing that family connection at home every day.

It is woven from 100% cotton, with fringed edges. The design is woven into the cloth. The 52 × 37-inch size is $64.99 and suits a lap or compact display; 60 × 50 inches is $84.99 and gives more coverage on a reading chair or sofa; 80 × 60 inches is $104.99 for a larger throw or bed accent. Measure the intended space rather than choosing from the styled photograph alone.

For a family contribution toward one retirement gift, the 60 × 50-inch size is a useful middle choice. Add a card mentioning a shared place, person or memory connected with the name. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and tumble dry low.

For Christmas: a small piece of family tradition

MacPherson ceramic ornament with cat crest, MACPHERSON lettering and red tartan background
The 3-inch MacPherson ornament includes a gold hanging string and a double-sided design.

The ornament is our simplest choice for an annual family gift exchange. It puts the MacPherson name among decorations that come out year after year, takes up little display space and avoids guessing a clothing size. The round ceramic disc is 3 inches across, with a pre-drilled hole and gold hanging string.

Giving one to siblings or cousins also makes a thoughtful shared tradition. Write the year or the family occasion in your own gift card; this listing is for the pictured design.

For a reunion: crest style or the McPherson Saltire

Sport Grey McPherson Saltire T-shirt with MCPHERSON lettering and Touch Not the Cat Bot a Glove wording
This separate shirt uses the McPherson spelling. The blue-and-cream Saltire gives it a more casual graphic look.

The MacPherson crest clothing puts the seated-cat design on a T-shirt or fleece-lined crewneck sweatshirt. Both are offered in S–3XL and navy, royal blue, black or forest green. Pick the $29.99 tee for everyday wear, or the $41.99 sweatshirt for someone who likes an extra layer.

The McPherson Saltire tee is the better match when the shorter spelling is important. It is a Gildan Softstyle 64000 unisex shirt in S–3XL, with navy, sport grey, black, light pink and sky options. Ask for their usual size and compare the product’s size chart before ordering several for a gathering.

For everyday use: the mug, or a lighter blanket

The glossy ceramic mug comes in 11 oz and 15 oz, with black, navy or red accents. It is dishwasher and microwave safe, making it an easy birthday choice for the MacPherson who has a favourite tea or coffee routine. An 11 oz mug plus the ornament comes to $44.98 before tax, bought as two separate items.

If they prefer a lightweight sofa blanket, choose the 50 × 60-inch printed throw at $49.99. It is 100% polyester, printed on one side with a white reverse and hemmed edges. The woven cotton version starts at $64.99, but its smallest size is 52 × 37 inches; compare material and dimensions together.
