About Higgin Irish Family Gifts & Heritage

Higgin is most plausibly a variant anglicization of the Gaelic Ó hUiginn, the same bardic surname usually rendered “Higgins” — nineteenth-century English-language sources, including the Dictionary of National Biography, recorded individual members of that hereditary poet family as “O'Higgin,” without the terminal s. The Ó hUiginn were Ireland's most famous hereditary family of poets, based for four centuries before the Famine in the same stretch of northwest Connacht that sent thousands of emigrants out through Sligo Harbour.

There's a good range in this collection — woven blankets, mugs, garden flags, ceramic ornaments, coaster sets, license plates, and t-shirts, all carrying the Higgin crest — so it's easy to match the gift to the person rather than the other way around.

Whether it's a birthday, a reunion, a homecoming to Connacht, or a gift for someone proud of the Higgin name, there's an option here that fits the occasion.

However they'd want to show it off — at home, out and about, or tucked away somewhere personal — there's a Higgin piece here for it.
