The Story Behind the Design

The Bethune crest and tartan are printed on a cotton T-shirt and a fleece crewneck sweatshirt, giving two ways to wear the family name.

Bethune, also spelled Beaton, was long associated with the Isle of Islay and later Skye, where generations served as hereditary physicians to the Lords of the Isles. The crest carries the motto Debonnaire, "Gracious."
