Coulter crossed the North Channel and stopped moving. This premium heritage woven blanket honors the Coulter family crest against the Irish National Tartan.

The Coulter Name in Ireland

The name is Scottish and territorial, from the lands of Coulter in Lanarkshire, and it settled in Ulster in the plantation era — Down and Antrim have been its Irish home ground ever since. In County Down it also stands for the older Gaelic Ó Coltaráin, so two separate histories now answer to one spelling. Its best-known modern bearer is the Derry songwriter Phil Coulter, whose "The Town I Loved So Well" wrote the name into the Irish songbook.
