The Mackintoshes long led the great Clan Chattan confederation from Moy Hall near Inverness, and it was Lady Anne Mackintosh, just 20 years old, who famously raised her clan for the Jacobite cause while her own husband fought for the other side. Their motto is the famous warning: Touch Not The Cat Bot A Glove — don't touch the wildcat without a glove.
