The Story Behind the Design
The Montgomery tartan and clan crest printed across a lightweight throw — the one that lives on the back of the sofa and gets pulled over you on an ordinary evening. The motto sits at the centre: Garde Bien, "Watch Well."
It's a name that travelled a long way to reach that sofa. The Montgomerys came from Normandy to Wales — giving their name to a whole Welsh county — and then north to Scotland in the twelfth century alongside the FitzAlans, ancestors of the Stewart kings, settling at Eaglesham in Renfrewshire. Nearly a thousand years of one family, now keeping you warm of an evening.
