The Cheyne name traces back to Norman settlers (de Chesney) who established themselves in northeast Scotland by the 13th century, with the family long connected to Esslemont and Straloch in Aberdeenshire. Cheyne is recognized today as one of Scotland's armigerous clans.

The flag is printed on 100% poly poplin-canvas - a lightweight but durable fabric with fine warp threads and thicker weft yarn - with the design applied to both sides so it reads correctly no matter which way the wind is blowing. It's available in a 12" x 18" size or the larger 24.5" x 32", and a sleeve sewn along the top fits any standard flagpole or flag stand. Pole not included.
