The Story Behind the Design
The McManus name in Ireland is a Gaelic Irish surname — Mac Maghnusa in Irish, son of Maghnus, the Irish form of the Norse name Magnus — found principally in County Fermanagh and County Roscommon, the family part of both the Ulster and Connacht Gaelic worlds. The name entered the Irish tradition through the Viking settlements of the ninth and tenth centuries, and Mac Maghnusa families descended from those who bore this Norse-origin name in the Gaelic world of the provinces.
